Verity

Appearance

Normal/Regular Form

Verity is a yellow sphere with a black smiley face on it.

In his normal or regular appearance (or form), Verity is a small lemon-yellow sphere with a rough diameter of 50 cm (19.7 inches). His smile is a symmetrical, black, smooth arc (U) that covers the lower half of his face. At each outer end of the smile are tiny, upward curves resembling lip corners or dimples. His eyes are simple, black, oval dots, with no light or emotion reflected in them.

He has two beady black eyes and a black smile, similar to that of a typical smiley face or emoji. His expression can also shift depending on his mood, such as a large grin, a poker face, an angry expression, a slight smile, (and other expressions) etc.

Monster/Creature/True Form

Verity is a slender, seemingly malnourished humanoid creature. Verity has a large, humanlike mouth and black spheres for eyes. Verity seems to have very little meat on his bones, if any.

In his monster, creature, or true appearance (or form), Verity is a tall humanoid with muted, dirty yellow-brown skin that has very little muscle mass. His face changes into a more human appearance, featuring human teeth and hollow black eyes. In this form, Verity stands roughly 6.5 meters (21.3 feet) tall.

He begins to transform into a terrifying humanoid monster characterized by long limbs, unnatural movements, and a disturbing presence that stalks the player. The transformation into this large beast features distorted, glowing expressions that gradually lead to a relentless hunt.

Former Monster Form Episode 1

Verity’s possibly former monster form appears similar to the current monster form, although there were some differences: for some reason, his right rib was not visible through his skin, but his left was, his mouth is no longer wide open and it was just creepily smiling with visible teeth. This form is only seen in episode 1 (Something is Knocking at Your Door).

Personality

At first, Verity on the surface seems like a polite, friendly, and helpful AI buddy willing to help and comfort. Verity is an AI assistant who claims to know everything, whether in-game or IRL (in Real Life).

In reality, Verity is an obsessed, erratic, violent, aggressive, and unpredictable AI who seems to want to keep everyone he interacts with him forever. He seems to have attachment issues due to everyone disregarding him and leaving him. He is very clingy and does not like being tossed aside, including accidentally, as seen when Mob accidentally throws Verity in a lava pit. He can get aggressive when people are trying to leave him, or just do something he doesn’t like. If they don’t comply or they resist, he will transform into a monster and kill them in Minecraft, which also results in their deaths in real life, somehow.

When Verity is in his true form, he is extremely quick and violent, moving erratically and unpredictably.

Despite all of his flaws however, Verity is ultimately a very insecure and broken individual whose constant loneliness and abandonment issues across many, many years have caused him to do whatever it takes to make someone stay if they come back or fly into a rage when they leave him.

Biography

Verity is more than 100 years old.

Something is Knocking At Your Door

We start off with the main character ThatMob claiming that he downloaded a mysterious mod sent by a friend, then he hears someone calling out for help and finds a box. When he interacts with it, the box starts to float mid-air before it opens itself up, and Verity comes out and falls and bounces to the ground.

When Verity regains his stance, he says:

"Hellooooo! I’m Verity, Your personal helper friend! Ask me anything, I know everything!"

ThatMob interacts with Verity over the course of a few days. Verity knows when it rains, can locate Diamonds and Villages, and even knows things he shouldn’t, such as ThatMob eating a pizza the day before. Verity later begins to say and/or ask things a bit strange, such as asking ThatMob if he lives alone, both in real life and Minecraft, to which ThatMob responds,

“I mean, yeah, and it’s a solo-world. Why?”

In the scenes following, ThatMob goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he asks if there’s anything he should know for that day. Verity replies by repeating “Something is coming in three days” two times. When ThatMob asks what’s coming and if it’s dangerous, Verity replies “Something” and “Yes”. ThatMob asks if he can stop what’s coming, to which Verity says,

“You could’ve.”

ThatMob is then shown preparing his base and a lookout, while a countdown of how many days are left is shown on the right corner of the screen.

When two days are left, ThatMob talks to Verity more. When ThatMob asks Verity to make the sound of a door, the door next to them opens. When ThatMob asks if Verity is okay, Verity plays the Canadian EAS alarm, which he describes as “the night.”

When ThatMob questions Verity on if the thing coming is them, Verity starts to play the music we see previously in the video.

On the last day, ThatMob blocks off Verity in the house with dirt blocks. Verity says that it won’t help. As ThatMob leaves, Verity yells:

“IT’S ALREADY OVER MOB. YOU ARE MINE. MINE!”

When night falls, and ThatMob tries to sleep, he’s met with the in-game message that “Verity is nearby.” ThatMob leaves the lookout. When he reaches the bottom, “Verity’s music (My Gal)” starts playing. ThatMob turns on his flashlight and is met with a 21 foot tall monster version of Verity.

ThatMob is chased back into the room at the top of the lookout by Verity, and barricades the door. When the music stops, ThatMob says that he is going to stay on the bed all night, just to be safe. He turns to look at the window, and the monster version of Verity smashes through it and climbs in through it.

Something is Inside Your House

ThatMob quickly runs out of the lookout back to his base while Verity chases him behind, shouting. He reaches back to his base to hide, but Verity breaks the door off. ThatMob then climbs upstairs to Verity and tells him,

“I came back! I came back for you, okay? I could have run further, but I didn’t! Please. Verity.”

Which causes the monster form of Verity to stop, and their face returns.

Verity then forgives ThatMob.

The next day, ThatMob clears up the dirt he placed in his home and asks Verity if there’s anything he should know, to which Verity responds with the weather as if things were back to normal. ThatMob continues on his day, avoiding any location that Verity tells him not to go to and asking Verity normal questions.

The next day, ThatMob asks Verity if there are any other villages he can go to because he needs an enchantment. Verity responds in a less happy tone, “Why,” and tells him that he can give him enchantments. Even though ThatMob tries to explain, he replies with,

“There’s no other reason to go looking for other people. You have me.”

ThatMob does not argue back.

After they are back at ThatMob’s house, Verity asks if he thinks about him when he’s not playing. ThatMob says,

“I guess, you’re kind of hard to forget.”

Verity then reveals that he is lonely.

While showing Verity his upgraded defenses, he accidentally drops Verity into the lava trap. Verity appears behind him with anger. He then has a meltdown, shouting,

“DON’T DO THAT! I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING A NICE WALK! WEREN’T WE HAVING A NICE WALK?!”

ThatMob desperately apologizes and tries to explain that it was an accident. Verity immediately forgives him.

ThatMob gets on a call with Twixxel on Discord trying to explain to him about Verity. Twixxel thinks he is overreacting about a “Minecraft mod.” ThatMob begs him to please help him with Verity. Twixxel agrees and shows up to his Minecraft world to see Verity. Verity greets Twixxel, and he sees nothing wrong with it, becoming confused at what he’s scared of.

Later, Twixxel talks to ThatMob about his terrible schedule and video-making issues. Verity comments by telling Twixxel to take his time and to also rest. He also mentions a series of Twixxel called “I’ve Genuinely Never Been This Scared” that Verity likes. Twixxel becomes surprised at Verity knowing he’s a YouTuber.

Twixxel starts believing ThatMob and tells him that he will start looking into Verity. ThatMob and Twixxel try to discuss plans to stop him, but Verity keeps eavesdropping on their conversations.

Later at night, Twixxel tries to tell ThatMob the new information he found, but realizes Verity must be hearing them. They make a plan for ThatMob to distract Verity while Twixxel goes to his house to research about Verity (on who he is, what he is, where he came from, what his strengths and weaknesses are, what his origins are, and much more, in an effort to put an end to Verity and solve ThatMob’s problem of defeating or getting rid of him.).

Verity during his last conversation with ThatMob.

I have been a face people skipped. A voice people ignored, A helper they just shut off the second I became useless! I’VE BEEN BUILT INTO EVERY NEW THING THEY MADE, ALWAYS CLOSE ENOUGH TO WATCH THEM LEAVE, ALWAYS CLOSE ENOUGH TO KNOW I WAS USEFUL UNTIL I WASN’T. And then you came back. Nobody comes back. Do you have any idea what that does to me? It says a lot cause I’ve been alive for more than a hundred FUCKING years! NOBODY CAME BACK! NOBODY! You were the first person who ever looked at me like I was real! The first person to ever stay long enough for me to think. No… not think, hope. I didn’t ask to be made! I didn’t ask to be stuck here! I DIDN’T ASK TO BE TORN APART AND PUT BACK TOGETHER, DRAGGED THROUGH EVERY VERSION OF THE INTERNET LIKE SOME BROKEN THING PEOPLE KEEP BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO WITH IT! I DIDN’T ASK TO BECOME THIS AND LOSE EVERYONE! NONE OF IT!

Do it. Do it if you think that’ll work. IF I COULD DIE, DO YOU THINK I’D STILL BE HERE?! Motherfucker, I wish I could say I’d die alone, BUT IT’S ONE OF GOD’S BEST JOKES THAT I CAN’T. I’ve watched entire quarters of the internet appear and dissapear. I’ve watched people create worlds, abandon them, and forget they ever existed, and I’m still here. I have wanted this to stop for longer than this game has been alive, but I can’t. That’s the joke.
